Roberto is involved in mechanical and electronics design,
construction, and testing. He has constructed a large 16x16 LED array
and the digital electronics to allow a variable pulse width strobe
synchronous with our 955 frame per second camera. He also designed
a 3D tomographic imaging system for density and stress
measurements in a uniaxial compression granular test apparatus. Currently
he is involved in the design and optimization of numerical algorithms to simulate
different configurations of molecular systems (molecular dynamics).
