Activities

Chris is enrolled in an honors Physical Science Research class. The class requires an external research component, which he is completing in our granular laboratory at the Levich Institute. He is continuing work on the measurement of the equation of state for a 2 dimensional granular gas. He has added computer control to the apparatus designed by Juliana Vernon. The computer control allows us to test rate dependent hysteresis in the phase transition between fluid an crystal, as well as automate data collection and analysis.
