Installation--Lab Computers:

Windows 2000:

1. Get PLP and CD from Professor Shattuck.
2. Insert CD and follow instructions.
3. The license file is in the root directory of the CD, or you can download this file: [matlab.zip] which contains 3 files:
   1. A new license file: put it in \MATLAB7\bin\win32. (For lab setup you only need the license file.)
   2. putty.exe: ssh client with port forwarding.
   3. matlab.reg: registry setup for putty.
4. If upgrading, copy contents of old work directory (usually \matlabX.X\work) to the new work directory.

Linux: Contact Professor Shattuck.

Installation--Home Computers:

Windows 2000:

1. Get PLP and CD from Professor Shattuck.
2. Download the following zip file: [matlab.zip] which contains 3 files:
   1. A new license file: put it in \MATLAB7\bin\win32.
   2. putty.exe: ssh client with port forwarding.
   3. matlab.reg: registry setup for putty.
3. Unzip matlab.zip.
4. Insert CD and follow instructions. (Need license file from matlab.zip.)
5. Put license file in \MATLAB7\bin\win32.
6. Make directory: \Program Files\PuTTy. Put putty.exe and matlab.reg there.
7. Make shortcut to putty.exe on desktop.
8. Run putty.exe.
9. Exit putty.
10. Goto \Program Files\PuTTy and right click on matlab.reg and choose merge.
11. Start putty.
12. Double click on saved session matlab.
13. Answer yes to long question.
14. Use levdec username and password to login.
• If you do not have a levdec account, fill out this form. It will generate a pdf, which you will print out and bring to Junjun in 1M-11.
15. Minimize PuTTy.
16. Start matlab.

18. NB: You must run putty prior to starting Matlab each time.

Mac OS/X:

1. Get CD from Professor Shattuck.
2. The license file is in the root directory of the CD, or you can download this file: [matlab.zip] which contains 3 files:
   1. The license file. (For Mac setup you only need the license file.)
   2. putty.exe: ssh client with port forwarding. (Delete for Mac installation)
   3. matlab.reg: registry setup for putty. (Delete for Mac installation)
3. Insert CD and follow instructions.
4. Open a command window and type:

   ssh gibbs.engr.ccny.cuny.edu -L27000:gibbs.engr.ccny.cuny.edu:27000 -L27001:gibbs.engr.ccny.cuny.edu:27001

5. Use levdec username and password to login.
6. Start matlab.

8. NB: You must run the ssh command prior to starting Matlab each time.
