We consider a shear driven model system of frictionless bi-disperse disks in two dimensions with over-damped dynamics. Using numerical simulations to measure shear stress as a function of areal packing fraction and imposed constant shear strain rate, we analyze behavior in the vicinity of the jamming transition using scaling hypotheses familiar from the theory of equilibrium phase transitions. We consider as well the limit of quasistatic shearing, together with finite-size-scaling, to determine the critical jamming density and critical exponents describing the jamming transition.
