We study the response of a nonlinear fiber network model to a force dipole. As shown in earlier work by Ronceray eta al, this network exhibits the phenomenon of rectification: the far-field stress response is contractile to an extensile force dipole. In this talk, I we will discuss or recent work, which shows that show that this rectification can be framed as an ``elastic screening'' of the force dipole, reminiscent of an usual electric dielectric. The screening emerges from self-organized buckling patterns, which results in a redistribution of the stresses.
